Presenter: Angela Pilcher – Group State Manager WA SA NT, Rehab Management

Angela Pilcher is the Group State Manager for Rehab Management covering the WA, SA and NT regions. She has over ten years’ experience in workplace rehabilitation services and a strong background in psychological claims management. As part of her role, Angela offers one-on-one interaction with injured workers, providing vocational support and counselling, while also working with employers to build their capacity to prevent and manage psychological injury in the workplace. Angela has a Master of Occupational Health and Safety Environmental Management from Australian Catholic University, a Master of Business Management from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Charles Darwin University. She has post-graduate qualifications in indigenous mental health and a wealth of experience working in rural and remote regions.

Michelle is a registered psychologist with ten years of experience in the workplace rehabilitation sector. She has experience in supporting recovery at work following psychological injury and illness and collaborating with stakeholders to achieve safe and durable outcomes for people experiencing mental ill-health. Michelle has a passion for evidence-based service delivery which is tailored towards positive and inclusive customer experience. In her current role as a National Innovation and Customer Engagement Manager for Rehab Management, Michelle is responsible for developing, implementing and measuring the impact of psychosocial programs designed to prevent or mitigate mental and physical health impacts in the community. Michelle is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society and Australasian Life Underwriting and Claims Association.

Presenter: Daniel Zeina – State Manager for VIC, Rehab Management

Daniel Zeina is the State Manager for Rehab Management in Victoria, where he oversees a portfolio of approximately 1,500 cases (comprising of both physical and mental health injuries) and manages a team of approximately 50 specialist allied health professionals. An accredited exercise physiologist since 2013, Daniel is also the Head of the Medical Department at a National Premier League football club (and has been for the past five years). At the football club, Daniel oversees the medical management of sub-elite footballers and manages high-performance rehabilitation across a senior team, including physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, and high-performance coaches. Daniel has also partnered with Victoria University to deliver one-off occupational rehabilitation lectures.

He has competed in four consecutive Paralympic Games, winning two gold, one silver and four bronze medals. He also holds four world records. Matt was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2014 for his service to sport as a Gold Medalist at the London 2012 Paralympic games. He now works at Westpac Bank. His career success and positive outlook on life make him an inspiration to all.

Heath Ducker grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. He lived with his emotionally fragile, single mother and nine siblings, conceived with half a dozen different fathers. Most days, there was nothing to eat but breakfast cereal. Soon after Heath's twelfth birthday, he was abused by the father of his only real friend. However, Heath was determined, from the outset, that he would not let his circumstances beat him. He is now a lawyer at Gadens in Sydney; a trek leader on the Kokoda Track with Adventure Kokoda; patron of Butterfly Day (children in war); a leader of the Youth Insearch Foundation and a director of the Aunties & Uncles Co-Operative Family Project. In 2008 Prime Minister Kevin Rudd presented him with ADC's Australian Leadership Award.

Brennan Smith is the Group State Manager for Queensland, ACT and Tasmania, where he is in charge of leading a team of area managers, rehabilitation counsellors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists and employment placement consultants. Brennan has over 10 years’ experience in workplace rehabilitation service delivery and has experience providing assessments and case management services for physical injury, including rehabilitation assessments, workplace assessments and ergonomic assessments. Brennan has a Bachelor of Science (Sports and Exercise Science) from the University of Sunshine Coast and a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology from Australian Catholic University. Brennan is an industry expert lecturer at ACU for the Post Graduate Exercise Physiology program.

Dr Sarira El-Den - Pharmacist and Lecturer, University of Sydney dr-sarira-el-den

Dr Sarira El-Den is a Pharmacist and Lecturer at The University of Sydney Pharmacy School. Sarira is an accredited Standard, Pharmacy, Workplace (Online) and Tertiary Mental Health First Aid Instructor and is involved in training pharmacists and students across Australia. Sarira is a mental health researcher and her work focuses around mental health screening, education and care. Her PhD research focused on building capacity for pharmacists’ roles in perinatal depression screening. She has also completed a Master of International Public Health and a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies. Her past achievements include being awarded the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia Pharmacy Student of the Year Award for South Australia-Northern Territory (2012), completing the Ignite Pharmacist Leadership Program (2015) and receiving an Endeavour Research Fellowship (2016). More recently, she has been the recipient of the Quality Teaching Reward at Sydney Pharmacy School (2018) and the Faculty of Medicine and Health Awards for Excellence - Outstanding Teaching by an Early Career Academic (2019). Sarira is currently the National Education Representative of the Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association and a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy.
