About Matthew Levy

Born at 15 weeks premature with cerebral palsy and vision impairment, Matthew Levy has survived over 50 operations on his brain, heart, lungs and ears. As part of the rehabilitation from his surgeries, Matthew found his passion and talent for swimming and realised that he could take it competitive. He has competed in four consecutive Paralympic Games, winning two gold, one silver and four bronze medals. He also holds four world records. Matthew was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2014 for his service to sport as a Gold Medalist at the London 2012 Paralympic games. He now works at Westpac Bank. His career success and positive outlook on life make him an inspiration to all.
